Summer break + cleanup & maintenance

Our servers, events and services have seen the least usage and attendance during the summer. This is to be expected, but we will make some changes to how we work on projects and do maintenance during this time accordingly.

The summer break

Starting 2025, we are introducing a period that we call the summer break.

What does this mean?
Well during the summer, when usage and interest is low, we will not actively work on smaller and side projects. For bigger projects, like THE PHASE, we will try to schedule updates in a way that they don’t require work during this time.
So in short, don’t expect new content or events during the summer break.

What about maintenance?
Maintenance will continue as normal during this period, although our internal schedule for maintenance does not apply. So bottom line, maintenance tasks like game server and service update will happen in a timely manner, but not on a fixed schedule.

The summer break is not an unbreakable spell. If someone decides to work on content or an event, so be it.
We just want to communicate that we don’t promise to deliver new content or events during that time.

The summer break will be active for now. As mentioned above, we will make a new post once we resume normal operation.
We will further discuss internally how it worked and if we will continue this in 2026 at a later date.

Cleanup & maintenance

To have a smooth start to our summer break, we have taken advantage of the low usage all around the network to do some deep cleaning and maintenance.
We have found many unused and inactive servers and services that were needlessly hogging resources. Additionally, we were able to identify and remove almost 2TB of junk data.

We also took the opportunity to run a full maintenance routine on the network, updating everything.
– AMP has been upgraded to the newest release version
– The Geyser Proxy for THE PHASE has been updated to the latest version
– The underlying Proxmox instance has been updated
– Nextcloud, OpenProject & some more Patron services have been updated

Network status BETA

I have been working on creating a status page for our most important services. I am still implementing necessary queries and functions to reliably get and display the status.
A beta version of the status dashboard is now available here.
